DC "Girlie" Shower

Susan Clark and Amy Hartman threw the most precious "girly" baby shower for me last weekend in DC. I was just about 38 weeks preggo, so it was so fun to have one last truly girly shower to celebrate MH with some of my FAVORITE ladies in DC. Amy and Susan truly outdid themselves, I mean these ladies know how to throw a party!!  Yummy chicken salad with fruit and pasta salad and magnolia cupcakes, yummo!!!  Everything was just precious and I had the BEST time.  Thank you Susan and Amy for such a fun, creative and totally "me" shower, you guys are wonderful and I am so thankful!!!

South Carolina Shower

We had the MOST wonderful time in Spartanburg, SC back at the begining of June. Jay and Katy (Whit's bro and sister in law) were able to come in town with baby Quinn and Clara, Whit and I drove down together from DC. It was so great to all be together as the Copley fam for a weekend, and of course it was wonderful to be around baby Quinn....he and Mary Harper will be about 10 months apart. Karen, Clara, Kim (Karen's best friend), Ann Page and Laurie Copley (Whit's Aunts) threw the most special baby shower for us in SC. Karen was able to reserve this beautiful historic home and bed and breakfast in down town Spartanburg for the shower, which is JUST the place I would choose.....I love historic home and this place was amazing!

Kim and her wonderful husband Ziggy drove in town from Charleston and the men "manned" the drink station out on the porch :)  The food was delicious and it was just so great to be with Whit's family and their wonderful friends.....to get to know them more and to see how much they absolutely love the Copley family by the way they celebrated me and Mary Harper. It was so special and I am so thankful to Karen for making such a special event for us.....we loved every minute!

Indigo Girls

A couple weeks ago Whit and I went to the Indigo Girls concert with our friends David and Betsy Metcalf and Peter and Ellie Andres. (Disclaimer: Yes, the guys we a little nervous about being the only straight men there with their straight wives, but deep down they all really love the Indigo Girls as musicians, I mean who doesn't!!) We were so excited to go to this concert, knowing that it would probably be one of the last times we go to a concert sans kid or without paying for a babysitter :) It was being held at on of our favorite venues in DC, Wolf Trap Outdoor Amphitheater. Wolftrap is great, bc the lawn tickets are really affordable and you still have a great view of the stage....AND they allow you to bring any food and drink into the venue to enjoy.....so we always bring along some yummy cheeses and wine. This particular night however, there were terential thunderstorms and rain in the DC area, so after the opening artists Whit and I stayed for about 5 of the Indigo Girls songs and then had to head home. We had been standing under the metal overhang near the food kiosks and Whit wanted to get his 8+ months pregnant wife out of the rain and lightening. Still fun to be at Wolftrap!
